SAAB 900 NOTCHBACK SEDAN FOR 1981

When the new Saab 900 notchback sedan was originally shown to the public at the Geneva International Auto Show early this spring, the response was so encouraging that officials of Sweden’s Saab-Scania decided to offer the four-door sedan model with both a normally aspirated and a turbocharged engine. Originally, the plan had been to only have the sedan as a Saab Turbo. The normally as- pirated Saab sedan is a part of the 9005 upscale model line for l98l and is available with either a five-speed manual or an automatic transmission. In the Saab 900 Sedan body, the rear section has been designed to harmonize with the front section. Through modifications of major parts of the basic construction, it has been possible to increase the interior space in several key areas. The large Saab luggage compartment can be further expanded by folding down the rear seat, opening up a flat floor, almost six feet long, for long and bulky loads. The 1981 Saab line of cars will be available through 315 Saab dealers through-
out the U.S. about November 15.
