SAAB TURBO HATCHBACK FOR 1981

A redesigned engine with a sma11er and more responsive turbo unit; new interior; an automatic transmission option in addition to the standard 5-speed manual transmission are just some of the new features in the 1981 Swedish Saab Turbo three-door hatchback. with its distinctive rear end spoi1er —- for 1981 complemented with a Targer front end air dam — the Saab Turbo has become somewhat of a status car in many parts of the United States. The originai Saab Turbo, first introduced in 1978, was one of the very first turbocharged cars in series production anywhere, and it has since set impressive records, both in sa1es and on the nation’s race track, where in 1979 it captured the Sports Car Club of America national championship in the Showroom Stock A C1ass. Since Saab first 1aunched its Turbo, a number of car manufacturers, both in the U.S. and abroad, have introduced turbocharged mode1s.

The 1981 Saab Turbo, a1ong with the rest of the 1981 1ine of Saab cars, will go on sa1e November 15.
