Saab 9-4x

At last, I finally managed to get the photo from my archives of the Saab 9-4x. Unfortunately, the quality leaves much to be desired, however it does give us a good example of what to expect in the fall of 2007. For more information on the Saab 9-4x, visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_9-4X

Here’s a thought for GM/Renault negotiations … start the process of joint ventures with Saab. Renault can bring Saab to the level of respect it so deserves, particularly in the USA. Use Saab brand (with real Saab products – not the Chevy or Subaru types) to expand a couple of notches higher …to the Benz & Audi level.
Between Saab, Renault & GM know how, the horizon might truly open up.

John,
This is a good idea to be open to mutually beneficial ventures. Saab has had a good history of joint ventures, remember Ford with the introduction of V4 and Scania with the introduction of the Turbo?

I can not stress this enough, less to no GM. Let SAAB build SAAB vehicles.

Matt,
Good point, are you saying that this 9-4x should NOT be built in Mexico?

Hello Ryan,
I don’t think it matters where the vehicles are built as long as the design and other aspects are built according to SAAB of Sweden’s specifications. If building in Mexico helps to reduce cost than that is a good thing as long as GM does not influence the factory and SAAB at the last minute to take shortcuts and replace desent parts with cheap parts.

Grtz,
It looks like the photos on 9-4x.com reference this site.

As someone who owns a 93 coupe (2001)- I’ve been waiting for a sports utility type saab for the longest time. large boot, simple layout, great safety, family, funky, young- so build the 94x or 93x whatever you want to call it and stop making excuses why no-one wants to buy your cars- if not the tiguan seems the part! PS have always enjoyed saabs- but the last 93 sedan- how boring!!!!! no personality!
