Posted on 31. Oct, 2006 by .

It is Tuesday once again and it is time for the Saab sighting of the week. Although this saab sighting was staged, I think the photo was pulled off quite well! In the far distance, you can see the Boston skyline!

Saab Scale Dealership Model

Posted on 30. Oct, 2006 by .

On a continuation from the models thread earlier, I thought it would be most appropriate to post some work I did last spring of a Saab dealership, complete with Scania Flatbed and Saab 9-3 Convertible both in contrasting red.

While the Saab Dealership is in (3/32), the Scania Flatbed and Saab 9-3 Convertible are in 1:72 (11/64s) scale. I believe I succeeded in the relative sizes of the Scania truck and Saab Convertible in relation to the dealership, close to the actual real life proportions. I also enjoyed having my architecture background integrate into my passion for all things Saab so well in this project. Enjoy the photo!

Saab Scale Models

Posted on 28. Oct, 2006 by .

I have been collecting and building a number of Saab Scale models over the years and I thought I should finally post what I have added to my collection so far. My hopes are that by providing this page , the page itself can act as a resource for others to obtain such models for their owncollections as well! As I continue to look for more models to add just as many of you do, I hope that you can help me understand what else is out there that can be obtained.

I have set up a page that lists these models according to the years that their original counterparts went into production that can be accessed on the right-hand column of this site. I look forward to your comments.

Saab Highlights – House of Sweden

Posted on 27. Oct, 2006 by .

Let me preface this by saying that this has been a busy week at the House of Sweden here in Washington, D.C., and I promise that this is the last posting of the House of Sweden this week.

At the House of Sweden Thursday evening there was an event that involved the architects of the House of Sweden, Gert Wingårdh and Thomas Hansen at Wingårdh Architecture in Göteborg, Sweden. Wingårdh also designed the SACC (Saab Advanced Design Center) in Sweden.

I thought I would show you some interior photos including a backlit floor mounted upright smörgåsbord that highlights Swedish Accomplishments over the years. Pay special attention to the Saab Convertible, Gripen Fighter Jet and Scania Truck!

A wonderful interior and quite an open feeling, I look forward to having the opportunity to visit once again. Enjoy the photography.
