I rented a 16mm projector just to get some sneak peeks of the film before we actually get them converted.

I don't own a digital camera, so this is pretty decent of a price, considering all of the time it would take, plus audio isolation is necessary to get the best quality audio directly from the projector via line input rather than atmospheric pickup from the external speaker as I am understanding today.

I look forward to everyone's help on this project. There is a paypal donation botton on the right-hand side of this site so if 3 people donate $20 we just covered the cost of the conversion and if each person donates $35, they get a copy of the DVD (cost of the DVD, the time of copying and the postage domestically) itself!

I should have some sneak peaks of #1 (Ems rallye) and #2 Saab History shortly. I am starting to like #2 more actually, you will see why when I get the clips up.

I am recording these clips from my digital camera (not that good quality) like a digital video camera from the projector's output today.

I paid $45 myself just to rent this thing for the weekend to see what these films actually have on them for us Saab Enthusiasts.

Another vote for the rally film to be converted first.

That's not a bad price. I've converted a few old 8mm films myself. With a projector, good screen, a dark room, a tripod and a digital camcorder, it's not too hard. From what I understand, that's how the conversion companies do it.
