A company called Camera Car Sweden has modified a standard Saab 9-5 Sedan into a 9-5 with a flatbed complete with the ability for additional add-ons for their camera equipment and crew for their film projects.

Clearly Saab Automobile in Sweden is one of their biggest clients.

With the CameraCar you can shoot pictures and film sequences in any direction, at any angle, from any height and at any speed you like. You can shoot from the pick-up itself, or from the platforms, which can be mounted in the front, in the rear or on the top of the car in a matter of minutes.

The car has double rear axles fitted with air suspension for a smooth, stable and virtually vibration-free ride. The modified suspension also gives the car a high load capacity, sufficient for just about most photographic equipment packages.

The CameraCar is equipped with an intercom system complete with headsets and throat microphones. This enables the director, the photographer and the driver to communicate clearly without annoying wind noise. A monitor in front of the “directors seat” makes it possible to follow shooting as it happens.

The rigging is based on the Euro system (Elemack) which leads to very short rigging times. We deliver up to head. The car is also equipped with attachments for Steadycam.

Electricity is integrated in the car with outputs 12 V and 220 V (1800 W). If more power is required, there is plenty of space to mount a mobile power generator.

The car is also equipped with tow bar and a car rig for side mount.

The CameraCar is dimensioned and designed to manage high precision filming of cars in high speeds on winding roads. But the CameraCar is, of course, just as useful in less demanding conditions. The CameraCar is also very well suited for shooting stills.
