Now that we have a very expeditious and high-end video conversion company to work with, this process should be much quicker than this video without question.

That is interesting. However, another thing to note is that rally cars probably have modified mufflers if any at all. And if I recall correctly, the most hp offered in a Classic 900 was 185 in the 94 convertibles.

Wow, thanks to all who donated to make viewing that film here possible. That was very interesting and enjoyable.

I was struck by several things, one of them being that the SAAB Competition Department had a 16-valve engine in their 99 rally car in 1979. SAAB didn’t offer a 16-valve engine in their production cars for another six years after that. The 1979 99 rally car engine put-out 225 hp from that 16-valve engine, while the 1985 (first year of the 16-valves) 900T output only 160 hp and horsepower in the C900 peaked with only 175 in the 1991 SPG, a heavier chassis than the 99.

I started my working career at a SAAB dealer 2 days after leaving school and that film brought many memorys flooding back, quite emotional in places as I have met Eric on certain trackdays in the UK in the 80′s, and also used to watch Stig in the RAC events etc.

I would think the next stage of your films would go onto the wide arched EMS, 3 door and 2 door TBOs, UK Mintex Rally, Bousla Spa Rally, Swedish, 1000 Lakes, etc.

And another stage of films would/could contain Ametuers Rallying 96/99/900 and the odd track day thrown in.

I know for 100% certainty that in the 1980s, either the BBC or the ITV televised The Welsh Rally Sprint at a place called Esgar Dyfyyd, spelling probably wrong, Stig ina 2 door TBO.
