Project Gudmund, 1965-1967

Project Gudmund named after the day the project started which happens to be Gudmund day in Sweden, the SAAB 99′s original design concept began to take shape. This concerted design effort was led by none other than SAAB’s chief designer Sixten Sason. This project took approximately two years to complete and was finally unveiled in Stockholm, Sweden on November 22nd, 1967.

This was the first time the idea of the SAAB 99 surfaced to the public.

“Project Gudmund” now resides at the Saab Museum in Trollhättan, Sweden.
