Saab Dealership Design – Saab of Queensway, Toronto

There have been a number of discussions over the internet recently about Saab Dealerships, in particular the number of dealerships that are located in the United States and elsewhere, but there have not been many that coverred the design of the dealerships.

In Canada, Saab dealerships are combined with Saturn Dealerships and this integration is the most common integration in this region. In Toronto, Ontario Canada one Saab dealership has taken a new approach to selling their Saab models by looking at architecture as an additional solution. Saab of Queensway has decided to replace most of its vision glass that is above the line of sight storefront windows in the curtainwall (the glass one would normally see in a commercial storefront environment) with a translucent fiberglass replacement glass system. This translucent glass system benefits the customer’s viewing experience inside of the dealership during daylight hours by displaying the “true” colors of the Saab models in a uniform way. These translucent fiberglass panels diffuse the natural light thus spreading it evenly throughout the showroom without any contrast and shadowcasting one would normally see in a similiar setting.

I have been able to obtain a few photographs, but have yet to receive any interior photographs. As soon as these arrive, I will add them to the gallery.

The message here is that with the existing dealerships in existance today, it is extremely important to maximize the experience for first time as well as repeat buyers in the sales showroom as well as the interior fit-out of the parts & service centers. The maximizing of the experience must be be approached as process that takes into effect all aspects for customers as well as perspective customers.

I would be interested in getting feedback from this dealership in the near future to see how much of measured difference it has made for them at Queensway Saab.
