I was going through the archives and came across an interesting photograph recently that involves a promotional event that took place in 1990. This promotional event involved a number of top representatives from Saab dealerships in Sweden whom were rewarded with some laps around the Alabama International Speedway at Talladega in 9000 CD models.

This location previously involved the 1986 Talladega event called “The Long Run” where Saab 9000 Turbos hit the track and then again with the 1996 Talladega event known as the “Talladega Challenge” where NG900 Saabs hit the track.

Here is the summary directly from source:

Top-selling sales representatives from Saab dealerships in Sweden were recently awarded with a tour of the Southeastern United States. For this special occasion, Saab could not resists showing off Alabama International Speedway in Talladega, the site where three stock Saab 9000 Turbo 5-door hatchbacks set two world records and 21 international speed and distance records in 1986 during the endurance known as “The Long Run.” To demonstrate the durability and performance of Saab cars, which was evidenced in the endurance run, for this event the Swedish salespeople test drove standard-production 9000 CD Turbos at top speeds on the high banks of the Talladega track. World-reknowned rallyist Erik “On the Roof” Carlsson was on hand, along with the other members of the original Long Run team – Steven Rossi, Torsten Aman, Ove Hasselberg, and Stefan Dunert – to tutor the salespeople who then took to the track themselves.
