Atomic Auto Sponsor Selling Skip Barber Engine

Atomic Auto of Portland, Oregon, a sponsor of Saab History, has just informed me that they have an original Skip Barber engine for sale, used during the Saab Skip Barber Series that spanned much of the 1980′s including a race actually Portland, Oregon in 1987.

This engine is chassis #004 with 2,078 actual miles of testing & racing (Akin’s). For those interested parties that would like to acquire this engine, please contact Atomic Auto directly.

They also indicate that if this engine is going to go to a good home not in the immediate area including a museum, they pay for the shipping.

In the meantime, I have been able to bring to you the video of a Saab Skip Barber race in Portland, Oregon in 1987 that showcases these stock Saab engines that were used in this racing series, thanks to former President of Saab-Scania of America, Bob Sinclair, enjoy!
