Today, I have rescued a 1992 Saab 900 Turbo 5-speed here in the Washington, D.C. area from a nearby local resident. The car is white and looks similiar to the one above which is actually a photo of my first Saab, but without the SPG skirt kit & SPG wheels, painted vent cover accessory as well as some other bits.

Tomorrow, I will be embarking on a long journey up North to New England where the car will be resting in the safe hands of a colleagues shop who is a professional Saab mechanic from then until and some time before the 2008 Saab Owners Convention in August.

During this time, I plan on removing, repairing, reinstalling and just about everything else that can be done on the car in order to get it up to tip-top shape between now and then.

Please wish me well on my 8 hour journey from Washington, D.C in between impending snowstorms., with a quick stop at Sports Car Service in Delaware for some tires en-route to New England. I am hoping for an uneventful, smooth and safe drive.

In the meantime, please expect that there won’t be many if any posts between now and this weekend.

Greetings from the previous owner your rescued it from! Lol. I am glad you got there safely and uneventfully….just like I said you would.

That car deserves a good home. It was far more loyal to me than I could ever have afforded to be to it.

That car has a heart and soul and I will actually miss it.

I can’t think of a better home where it would be more appreciated.

    My best,
    Jo

    Hi

I’ve just realised that I had one of these for 12 months in 1993.
It was black with grey leather, and I had the red performance control box from new giving (I think) 185 bhp.

I ran it to about 30,000 km (say 20,000m), much of that driving it across Europe for business.

I remember a couple of problems in Germany at speed :

    1)Wind noise
2)Long steady bends taken at 200+ km/h caused the rear tyre to foul the bodywork resulting in a worrying feel and noise !
