stacks 600 Saab History Visits Saab Media ArchivesAs part of my final day in Detroit, Michigan during the 2008 North American International Auto Show, I had the fortunate opportunity and privilege to visit the Saab Media Archives.

The Saab Media Archives are located in two distinct facilities near the Detroit, Michigan area. The first location, located in Sterling Heights, Michigan at the GM Heritage Center, approximately 45 minutes from downtown Detroit, is where the text and photographic material is safely stored.

The next facility located in Livonia, Michigan is where all of the video material is safely stored, transferred, preserved. During my time visiting both facilities, I have done my best to fully identify the content that is located there which was brought in from Saab Automobile USA from their Norcross, Georgia location when the move took place in 2004.

A thank you to the team at the GM Heritage Center, the staff at the GM Media Archives and of course Saab Automobile USA for the opportunity. It was a privilege and an honor to be able to visit this important asset in saving this material. Please expect much more material to be coming out from this experience in the near future.

A monumental day for Saab History!
