Remember the Scania griffen was a reference to the Scania trucks and the Saab-Scania era (1969-1989) as well as the Southern most tip of Sweden. - R I think it’s for brand recognition without question.

At least it'll stop people/friends from asking me: "What kind of car is that?". Of course, they'll then ask me the next most annoying question: "Who makes the SAAB?". :-) On the serious side, I think a lot of people see SAABs on the street and like them, but they don't know what they are or where to find them.
