ANA, short for AB Nyköpings Automobilfabrik, was the first authorized agent for SAAB in Sweden after Phillipsons, which began in Nyköping, Sweden.

In 1960 SAAB purchased ANA to become SAAB-ANA which then was a wholly-owned subsidiary of SAAB-SCANIA’s Saab Car Division.

At the Nyköping location, there was number of active departments in play over the years such as marketing, after sales, development & production, administration & finance, personnel, public relations, property & buildings and development of international projects such as the Fiat/Lancia as well as Saab-Valmet. This location also became the central region as a global parts warehouse in Ärno, just outside of town and as of today, this location continues to act as the global distribution center for Saab parts and accessories for Saab.

About Nyköping

Nyköping is located on the coast an hour south of Stockholm. Its proximity to the major cities of Europe via Stockholm Skavsta Airport, to the archipelago and the cultural landscape of Sörmland make Nyköping an attractive place to live.
Nyköping and its surroundings

There are roughly 35,000 people living in central Nyköping and close to 50,000 in the whole municipality. There are 23,400 households in the municipality, with 9,600 of these individual homes and 13,800 apartments. The small towns around Nyköping – Stigtomta, Nävekvarn, Jönåker, Tystberga, Stavsjö and Ålberga – all have their own character and advantages.

Nävekvarn is located along the coast on beautiful Tunaberg Peninsula, Tystberga is strategically close to the E4 motorway north of Nyköping for people who need to commute to Stockholm or Södertälje, and Stigtomta, with its farms and substantial horse population, is near the airport. Jönåker, Ålberga and Stavsjö are all located along the old rural Route 1 in Kiladalen, a comfortable commuter’s distance to both Nyköping and Norrköping.
Nyköping is growing

Nyköping is growing and expanding toward the water with new residential areas. Increased migration to Nyköping and more inhabitants are an explicit policy goal, and with our campaign to promote migration to the municipality, www.boinykoping.nu, we are raising awareness about Nyköping in the Stockholm region.
Shopping

On the street Storgatan, stretching nearly one kilometre, are small designer boutiques and clothes shops alongside H&M and the grocery chain Ica. You can run across celebrities here like Filippa K, Philippe Starck and Kalles Kaviar.

During the summer, the harbour is alive with restaurants and handicraft shops along the embankment. Several shopping precincts are located at the southern and northern approaches to the city, which is practical for anyone going to the countryside or passing through by car.
Sport and culture

Rosvalla Nyköping Event Centre is a newly constructed arena that houses an ice rink, tennis courts, bowling lanes and a multi-purpose facility for sport, trade shows and concerts. Nyköping Golf Course is five minutes from the city and with 36 holes of golf, it’s enough for a whole weekend. The archipelago is particularly suited for kayaking – lots of islands with few inhabitants and a good chance of encountering seals or eagles. Four boat clubs, the 1,000-kilometre-long Sörmland hiking trail, 500 kilometres of horse trails, 700 kilometres of bike paths and 63 holes tempt us to sneak off early from work, at least on Fridays.
Transport

It’s easy to get to Nyköping and easy to continue on from here. The E4 motorway swings past just outside Nyköping, and Stockholm Skavsta Airport takes you elsewhere in Europe quickly and in comfort. Trains stop twenty-six times a day, which is convenient for commuters.
No tax haven, but not that far from it

The municipality tax is 21.28% (compared with Sörmland 21.51%) and the county council tax is 9.72% (compared with Sweden 9.97%), which means a total tax rate of 31.00%.
Nyköping Local Authority’s vision

All local authorities have a variety of plans, policies and programmes that govern operations. At the heart of all these documents is a comprehensive vision that is decided by our politicians. This is our vision.
