Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible takes on Pikes Peak

Posted on 09. Oct, 2008 by in 2000-2009

An automotive journalist decided to take a 2009 Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible up Pikes Peak.

As you know, Pikes Peak in Colorado was where Saab sponsored races in 1997, 2000 and 2002.

This test drive as illustrated in the video is certainly “unique” because this journalist ultimately believes that the Saab 9-2x, was the best Saab ever made, so I guess there’s not much else to say.

For a racing driver, there are few things in the area more exciting than the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. West of Colorado Springs, the most-visited mountain in North America rises to 14,110 feet and, each July, all kinds of wildly tricked-out machines are flung along its narrow road. The “Race to the Clouds” challenges with 156 turns over 12.42 miles of gravel and asphalt, where grades average 7 percent and guardrails are rare.

“I don’t know what a Saab is.” Something tells me we should stop listening right there.

    Matt,

Good point. He says that he doesn’t know what Saab is yet he properly referred to a Saab model as a 9-2x, so he knows about them but doesn’t know about them? He sounds a bit confused and should visit my website here for more information.

Let’s remember though there are still a large number of people out there, whether we want to acknowledge this or not..that still do “Not know what Saab is”.

I find this sad, but true..
