New Salem Saab, the oldest continually family owned and operated Saab dealership in the North East, is offering assistance to customers from Roberti Saab, who officially closed this past Tuesday, November 18th, 2008.
This move is a very kind effort, in a similiar way that Gary Small Saab has taken care of former Carter Saab customers in Seattle, back on September 15th, 2008.
Here is the official announcement by Saab History, site sponsor, New Salem Saab:
I would like to help any of Lou’s customers who need new Saabs or warranty work on their Saabs. Lou has known me for a long time and I’m sure he would recommend us for your Saab warranty repair needs. Our Company is New Salem Saab and I am the Owner and Service Manager. I have spoken to Lou about what has transpired and offered the same help to him as I now offer to all of his customers. This is not a solicitation, yet a offer to help. you can find us on the web at www.newsalemsaab.com. We have been a Saab dealer for 47 years straight and are now the Second oldest originally owned Saab dealer in the Country. I wish Lou well and will be speaking to him regularly to see what else I could help him or his customer with. Us Saab people need to stick together, especially NOW.
Sincerely, Darryl F. Carl Owner, New Salem Saab

Dear Lou & Todd..what great news this is……best of luck at New Salem Saab..I am so glad to travel to Albany vs. Fishkill..a much easier trip for me, and the thr Sat. hours will work well. I believe I am driving Saab # 9…8 of which were bought from you. The most recent Saab story involved Sarah..last Tuesday she was driving the last Saab she bought from you and was hit head-on by a drunk, illegal immigrant in the state of Washington. This 1990 vehicle saved her life as the air bag was deployed. The ED doctor told her she would have had crushing chest injuries, which she probably would not have survived…had it not been for the air bag and strong front end. She suffered numerous bruises and contusions…but is able to talk about it as she mends. The car was totalled and she is looking for another reasonable ” Lou Roberti car”. Thanks for your letter, best of luck in this new endeavor and I will see you soon, for a Sat., appointment.
