New Saab Automobile USA Red Tag Sale TV Ad

Saab Automobile USA’s McCann Erickson has just delivered their third television ad, this one being a hybrid of the Saab 9-3 Convertible “Recycle” ad\ along with the Red Tag Event event mentioned this past weekend.
I find the voiceover in the ad “interesting” because almost two weeks ago back on November 15th, I wrote about Saab USA’s website Build-Your-Own section being “downgraded”. This site feature only displayed new Saabs in laser red, and “somehow” this idea about any color you want as long it is red, has been continued in this ad where they state “Saab drivers have always been attracted to the color red”. I believe that this line was taken out of context from my previous posting. Furthermore, for argument sake, we know they did not create this opening line in the ad because of the “red” tag sale itself, as the red tag sale is not unique to the Saab brand, it is a GM sale event that spans all of the brands. So the question is, where did they get the data showing that Saab drivers have always been attracted to the color red? Perhaps from the Saab USA website of course, which only gives you that option!
However, if you are interested in buying a new Saab 9-3 or 9-5, now is the time as long as it is completed prior to January 5th, 2009 in the United States. I have already heard one colleague of mine talking about how hard it was to pass up an offer on a brand new 2008 Saab 9-3 SportCombi for just $24,000! What a deal!
I suggest you visit the following Saab dealerships which are Saab History advertisers here in the United States to take advantage of this incredible offer, because now IS the time to buy!

I have NEVER…repeat….NEVER….seen a red Saab on the road.

Hello! Never seen a red Saab on the road? What about old 900s? What region are you located in?
I’m in the Midwest, USA. I know it’s weird, but I truly cannot remember seeing one on the road. Mostly Black, Silver, Grey, Blues around here.
But isn’t it obvious in the commercial that the red they’re referring to is the red on the turbo gauge? I don’t get the point about the website…
