The Saab-Lancia 600 was produced from 1980 until 1982. It was a Saab-Scania / Lancia partnership that was created in order to share the financials in creating a platform that would eventually set the stage for the successor, the Saab 9000, three years later.

The Saab 600 was a rebadged Lancia Delta and that set the stage for the Saab-Scania & Fiat-Lancia-Alfa Romeo partnership.

The Saab 600 was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, which was a front-wheel drive, 4-door hatchback.

This model for SAAB came equipped with the following specifications:

5-door hatchback. F/F, 1425kg, Saab grille and Saab wordmark badges, 165/70r13 aluminum alloy wheels

GL, GLS, GLE Models.

Interior:

Cloth seats, rear seats fold down for hatch.

Chassis:

Unibody frame, diagonal cross brake system, vacuum servo, handbrake on rear brakes. Macpherson strut suspension and sway bars.

Engine:

4-Cylinder, 2-port weber carburettor, 1,498cc, 45 liter fuel tank, compression ratio 9:2:1

    The car was also sold in Denmark. The versions sold in Denmark had the normal Lancia Delta front grille even with the Lancia logo. On the back they had stuck a Saab 600 badge.
