tata TATA Motors Not Interested In Acquiring Saab Automobile

I have been wondering who Saab Automobile’s buyer would be since a number of possibilities were mentioned by Jan-Ake Jonsson such as TATA Motors, BMW or PSA back on December 3rd, 2008.

Since that announcement, a number of Saab History visitors have been giving their best guesses or wishes in a poll I launched as well, hoping we could all narrow down the choices.

Today, we can officially narrow these choices down to two. I have now received this official response from TATA Motors, now leaving the possibility of just BMW or PSA Peugeot Citroen (depending on what their response is about the merger, etc.)

Dear Ryan,

Tata Motors is not interested in acquiring Saab Automobiles.

Kind regards

At this stage I wouldn’t rule out Tata or anyone buying Saab.
It’s usually not good business sense to announce your intentions publicly until you have a concrete deal. I’ve got a feeling Saab’s new owner might just end up being a bit of a surprise!
