According to Trollhattan’s TTELA and Saab Automobile AB’s Gunilla Gustavs via Reuters, the planned layoffs have been scaled back originally mentioned back on March 12th.

These planned layoffs are all connected directly to production staff only due to the current demand from Saab dealerships worldwide.

The original layoffs were to be 750, but today it has been indicated to be reduced by 49. The total layoffs will be 701, those being 646 production staff and 55 officials in the factory that will be leaving on Friday.

Sad that so many will be laid-off. I hope they don’t overcompensate for the current downturn, because hopefully the new vehicles will be flying off the showrooms!

Matt,

Thanks. I know, it’s better that it was reduced, but still not good.

I hope demand picks up with all of the new products coming soon!

I like your optimism too!

Ryan
