All New Saab 9-5 Begins Road Tour In Europe

The all new Saab 9-5 is beginning its tour of Europe this fall as I previously mentioned starting in the United Kingdom and ending in Italy as part of a global campaign.

While this is very good to hear, what significantly concerns me is that the piece below says the all new Saab 9-5 will be arriving in dealerships a year from now, “late 2010″! I thought this would be at dealerships in the spring of 2010 at the latest. Is this a typo?

On a different note of less importance, I hear the truck carrying the Saab is not a SCANIA, but a Volvo for some reason. Some would say it wouldn’t matter, I would say it would be simply appropriate acknowledging the previous era and the fact that Saab had previously used these in events, in particular the Skip Barber racing series as shown here.

Following the worldwide reveal of the Saab 9-5 in August, invited guests will be able to take a closer look at the new car as it begins a comprehensive VIP tour of Europe this autumn.

The 9-5 will visit twelve locations in total, giving over 6,000 VIPs – comprising Saab dealer representatives and selected customers – the chance to explore the car in more detail and experience first-hand the unique and impressive design features of Saab’s latest vehicle before it arrives in dealerships in late 2010.

Saab’s Marketing Executive Director, Knut Simonsson, said: “We are delighted to be able to take the new 9-5 on a VIP tour and are looking forward to seeing individual reactions to what is undoubtedly the most progressive Saab we have ever launched. The introduction of the 9-5 marks the beginning of an exciting autumn for Saab and the response we have received so far from the public has been tremendously positive.”
