Saab Cars North America has recently launched a new Question & Answer page on their website

The idea here is to provide clarity to frequently asked questions. It’s nice to see.

Here are the details for simplicity sake.

Q: What is happening with the sale of Saab?

A: Great progress has been made toward securing financing to complete the purchase of the brand. Recently, the European Investment Bank approved Saab Automobile AB’s loan application for 400 million Euros, roughly $600 million USD. Saab is in the final stages of negotiations with Sweden’s National Debt Office and we expect confirmation from the European Commission that Sweden’s state guarantee conforms with EU rules on state aid. It is a complicated process; however, we remain extremely confident that our plans are on track to close the deal in the 4th quarter of this year.
PRODUCT

Q: When will Saab introduce new products?

A: Among the many bright spots in Saab’s future, the emerging product portfolio is perhaps the brightest. Saab currently expects to launch 4 new vehicles in the next 16 months, products that are sure to resonate with our highly educated, progressive thinking customers:

* The 9-3X, a versatile all-round XWD vehicle
* The 9-4X, a compact luxury crossover vehicle
* And of course, Saabâ€™s new flagships, the 9-5 Sedan and the 9-5 SportCombi

Q: Where will the vehicles be built?

A: Production of most Saab cars is being consolidated in the Trollhattan, Sweden manufacturing complex. 9-3 convertible production will be moved there from Graz, Austria later this year. The future 9-4X luxury crossover vehicle will be built in Ramos, MX.

Q: When will 9-3 production for the US start again?

A: We currently expect production for the US to begin shortly after the purchase is completed. The convertible may start production yet this year, with the sedan, combi and all-rounder starting early next year.

Q: When will MY10 pricing be announced?

A: Pricing will be announced nearer the arrival of the product in our showrooms.
SERVICE AND WARRANTY

Q: I’ve heard that Saab will be under new ownership. What happens to my Saab vehicle warranty and no-charge scheduled maintenance?

A: Saab vehicle coverage will be unchanged. Saab vehicles will continue to be covered by current warranty and service plans, and customers should continue to have their vehicles serviced at Saab dealerships.

Q: If the dealer I used to go to is no longer in operation, where should I go for service?

A: The Dealer Locate feature on saabusa.com will help you locate the nearest authorized service locations. You can also contact the Saab Customer Assistance Center at 800-955-9007 for guidance.

Q: If my dealer is no longer in operation and the next closest Saab dealer is farther away, where should I go for service?

A: If your vehicle requires normal scheduled maintenance or warranty repairs, the Dealer Locate feature on saabusa.com will help you locate the nearest authorized service locations. If your vehicle cannot be driven, call Roadside Assistance at 800-852-9001.

Q: If my dealer is no longer in operation, can I take my Saab to a GM dealer for scheduled maintenance and warranty service?

Q: Is Saab considering creating new service-only points?

A: Yes, Saab is currently exploring ways to make the ownership process as convenient as possible for current and future Saab owners. Strategically located authorized providers who deliver only warranty and maintenance services are one of the ideas being investigated.

Q: Will parts and accessories continue to be available for my Saab product?

A: Yes, genuine Saab parts and accessories will continue to be available.
