TTELA reports that Christian von Koenigsegg and Bard Eker are now visiting the Saab factory in Trollhattan, Sweden to discuss this deal that they withdrew from.
It seems, that they are fully willing to tell all about why exactly they pulled out. This is for business people, quite amazing. I really hope to hear more details from them here so we can learn what’s up and why this all went down like this.
What’s really surprising with this visit is that these two individuals chose to show up driving in a Jaguar, not a Saab! What were they thinking and where’s the passion and interest? This is another sign about their real lack of interest in Saab after all.
RIGHT NOW: Koenigsegg visit Saab
TROLLHÄTTAN At the moment, Christian von Koenigsegg and Bard Eker on the Saab factory in Stallbacka to meet with the employees.
- I think everyone wanted to implement this deal, that’s what feels so weird, “said Christian von Koenigsegg.
Now in the morning was Christian von Koenigsegg and Bard Eker in Koenigsegg group to Trollhättan. They have no specific plans but would like to meet people.
- It was important to come here and tell you more about the background of why we pulled ourselves out, “said Christian von Koenigsegg.
Was it something you have done differently?
- I can not feel it. There came a point when everyone was waiting for each other.
Christian von Koenigsegg now believe that it is urgent if Saab can be saved.
- It is my opinion, without knowing what GM’s plans.
Koenigsegg group is now in fairly good knowledge of Saab and offer to use them if a new buyer shows interest.
- Is there anything we can help we will do it.
He will return again and again that it is sad that the deal could not be implemented.
- We have a good feel for Saab. We believe in it, it’s not the problem.
The problem was that it was not possible to get together all the pieces fast enough.

At Saab in Trollhattan is collected on Wednesday Koenigsegg Group, union representatives and politicians to meet employees and talk about yesterday’s shock clearance.
TROLLHÄTTAN The rain pours down outside the Saab factory in Trollhattan on Stallbacka. As early as seven o’clock in the morning was Christian von Koenigsegg in place to meet with employees and unions. In a meeting with council leader Gert-Inge Andersson (S), the Union President at Saab, Annette Hellgren and IF Metall’s Chairman at Saab, Paul Akerlund, said Christian von Koenigsegg why the company took the decision to withdraw from the purchase of Saab. There is a noticeably tired Christan von Koenigsegg faced the press outside the main entrance to Saab.
- We reached a breaking point over time. The deal has always been shot at and it was best to take this decision as soon as possible, “he says.
Christian von Koenigsegg says he has met with employees who have been very disappointed. And he hopes to help with as far as possible. But even at 10 was Christian von Koenigsegg and Bard Eker off to a meeting in Gothenburg. von Koenigsegg disappeared in a Jaguar and do not want to be photographed.
On Wednesday morning, said Christian von Koenigsegg to SvD outside the factory:
- It feels good to be here, but obviously I am incredibly sad that there was something. Besides time and heart, we have spent over 100 million during the six months we have been involved in the process.
Whose fault is it?
- I do not blame anyone. There were too many bodies would agree. Had we only had a specific date to inform us after we had been able to adapt to it.
Have you not benefited from the attention, too?
- I do not know. But I think the whole debate that we did this to get PR is preposterous.
Will you continue working with Augie K Fabel?
- Yes, we have great confidence in each other.
What happens to the Koenigsegg Group?
- I do not know. Right now, there it remains. But there is an enormous emptiness that the deal did not go ahead.
On the way through the gates of Saab goes Bard Eker, the Norwegian industrial designer who has long collaborated with Christian von Koenigsegg. Although he is very concerned over the last day events.
- We are in limbo right now, “he says.
What can you say to employees?
- I understand if they are angry and disappointed. If they want to beat us, they may do so.
What was it that went wrong in the process?
- Money is not everything. As long as no one could set a date for when we could get a final agreement, we had either no opportunity to adapt to this and over time bleed to death Saab.
Trollhättan Municipal Gert-Inge Andersson (S) has since last night, kept up appearances, and he points out that there is no notice of abandonment.
- I very much regret what happened. Now should I call my colleagues in Berlin to get more information.
Gert-Inge Andersson will also collect their colleagues in Trollhättan town halls to see what they can do during the day.
Even Christian von Koenigsegg to deal with the government on Wednesday.
- I guess they have woken up there now so that you can make, “he says.
Union President at Saab, Annette Hellgren, and IF Metall’s Chairman at Saab, Paul Akerlund, has also met with Christian von Koenigsegg in the morning.
- Koenigsegg Group appears to be very disappointed and they have felt compelled to take this decision, “said Paul Ã…kerlund.
During the day, he and Annette Hellgren evaluate all information that has come and analyze this.
- We know about some things we can not say to the media right now. And we must check if it really is as it says, or if there are other hidden things, “says Paul Akerlund.
But Annette Hellgren nonetheless feels that there is no blame on anyone in this process.
- We think that Koenigsegg Group has been seriously from the beginning. And we thought all the time on the business plan.
She points out that there still is no closure process.
- We build cars as if nothing had happened. The production will continue.
The Union will have a general assembly today, while waiting for IF Metall. Before Paul Akerlund yesterday he said:
- This is the opportunities factory. Anything can happen.

In the US he’d need a bodyguard….
The explanation is unlikely and the visit odd, but hopefully next week will bring a new chapter.
I don’t think Koenigsegg was the problem. It was just nervous backers and the slow moving pace of GM. I personally wouldn’t mind if Koenigsegg had a role in a new and much stronger consortium or group to buy Saab. Their role as front-man however, is finished.
Are we witnessing the end? Hopefully not. But with these economic conditions, anything can happen.
It is wierd, and especially unacceptable that they arrived in a Jaguar.
