Unanswered Questions Surrounding The Saab/GM Process

Posted on 20. Dec, 2009 by in 2000-2009

There are still so many unanswered questions about Saab’s future and the unexpected decision that went down on Friday morning.

While, Saab, Spyker & the Swedish Government are still surprised and trying to decide the next course, we still have the following.

* Why did GM decide to say that they are “winding down Saab” on Friday instead of waiting until December 31st, and internally if the deal did go through, allowing another bidder to come forward like Merbanco? They still had just under a few more weeks remaining to seal “a” deal.

* Why aren’t GM telling the public the real reasons why they unexpectedly made the decision they did on Friday morning?

* Why is GM saying that the clock starts now for the winding down process, then also says on the other hand, it starts January 1st?

* Why couldn’t Saab start over as a fresh new independent company January 1st? It seems as though there is no reason they can’t

* Why do Saab Dealerships Have Another Month Extension in January and why was this decision made before GM made their statement on Friday?

* Who are the new group of investors from Sweden and why are they potentially emerging now?

Here’s hoping we will learn the answers to all of these questions and learn more about what is happening and ultimately, there is a positive outcome to all of this.
