Paul_Adler“We’re delighted to welcome Paul to the Saab team,” said Saab GB boss Jonathan Nash. “Paul brings a wealth of experience of the motor industry and, in particular, the important fleet market.

“Saab has a clear plan for 2010 and beyond and we need the right people to help us achieve our ambitions,” he said. “I think this move endorses the industry view that Saab is back in 2010 and is serious about the fleet market.”

Adler said: ”I am excited about the challenges and opportunities ahead. Saab Automobile United Kingdom Announce 9-3x Pricing

Saab Automobile United Kingdom announce pricing on the Saab 9-3 Cross Combi, and I have been able to show some currency conversions on their prices to United States Dollars, and believe that these could be the price ranges we could expect on the models.

I’m still very frustrated that the 9-3x does not have a TTiD/XWD combination, apparently it was an impossible engineering feat. The price looks like it will be about the $39,999 range I suspect for the United States market.

Anyways, here’s the press release.

24,995.00 GBP=37,836.38 USD
27,506.28 GBP=41,643.18 USD

* Price announced for 9-3X, from £24,995 OTR for the 1.9TTiD model
* Premium design and leading technology across the range
* On sale from May 2009

Competitive pricing has never been more topical, and the good news for Saab customers is the much-awaited new 9-3X has stormed the crossover sector with an entry price of just £24,995 for the 1.9TTiD model.

The newcomer, revealed at the Geneva Motorshow earlier this year to rave reviews will arrive at Saab dealers in August 2009.

The 9-3X is available with a choice of two engines: the punchy 1.9TTiD diesel engine produces 180PS and 400Nm of torque, or the 2.0-litre petrol turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 210hp, with the additional benefit of Saab’s technically advanced Cross Wheel Drive system (XWD). This model costs from £25,995.

Saab Automobile U.K. Launches 9-3 ‘Turbo’ Edition

Saab Automobile U.K. Launches a new Saab 9-3 ‘Turbo’ edition. This model launches a new revised ecopower diesel engine range that reduces CO2 emissions.

What’s interesting about this version, is that it looks like the wheels are what were launched on the first generation Saab 9-3 sport sedan all the way back in 2002, am I mistaken?

Here’s the press release below.

Saab has introduced a Special Edition model to its 9-3 range that allows you to lower your CO2 emissions and improve your driving experience, without compromising your bank balance.

The new Saab 9-3 Turbo Edition comes with an impressive selection of features as standard including 17-inch alloy wheels, leather interior, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, 9-speaker 150w audio system with MP3 compatibility and cruise control. It is available from just £19,995 for the Saloon and £21,071.60 for the SportWagon.

The new 9-3 Turbo Edition also marks the launch of Saab’s revised EcoPower diesel engine range – technology designed to offer lower CO2 emissions and increased fuel efficiency.

The 1.9TiD 150hp/110 kW engine now produces CO2 emissions of just 137g/km with combined fuel economy of 54.3mpg. The 1.9TTiD 180hp/132 kW twin turbo diesel engine has also been revised, and now produces only 139 g/km and has an impressive combined fuel consumption figure of 53.3mpg. The SportWagon’s figures are also improved for both engines, to 144 g/km and 51.4mpg. This puts most Turbo Edition variants with diesel engines in VED Band E.

In terms of CO2 grams per horsepower, the twin turbo diesel models badged (1.9TTiD) are now among the top performers in their class, delivering on power whilst offering attractive tax benefits for fleet decision makers and business motorists.

David Pugh, General Manager Sales and Marketing Strategy from Saab, said: “The 9-3 Turbo Edition offers a package that is undeniably appealing on all levels – from price to performance and emissions.

With more power for less money than its rivals, and the added bonus of many of the extras from our most prestigious vehicles as standard, this car allows you to travel in luxury for considerably less.”

The Saab 9-3 Turbo Edition is available from dealers now.

*The CO2 reductions refer to manual transmission models; however automatic transmission is also available.

Saab Automobile AB (Global) has just released a new Saab 9-3 SportCombi BioPower Holiday Ad.

As far as this biopower car is concerned, we’ll see if 2009 really is the year that it comes to North America as previously indicated.
