The Saab-Skip Barber Racing Series known as the “Barber Pro Series” began with Bob Sinclair, former Saab-Scania of America, Inc. President in 1986.

This series ran from 1986 until 1993, when the new President of Saab Automobile USA Jim Crumlish, replaced Bill Kelly.

To learn more about the Skip Barber racing series, I strongly urge you to watch a number of the videos here covering a number of venues where this took place. I also suggest you watch the interview I had with Bob Sinclair who discusses this arrangement at the Boston Auto Show back in November of 2007.

The vehicle above, previously stored at the Saab USA Technical Training facility in Wallingford, Connecticut is now part of the Saab Automobile USA Heritage Collection.

The Saab Automobile USA Technical Training facility began operations in Wallingford, Connecticut 1998 and operated until the spring of 2005, when it was closed down.

aero.jpgThis facility was where Saab Master Technical Trainers, John Moss & Jay Flagge spent most of their days training dealer service personell across the United States.

Since its operations consisting of training service personell, it also became an annual venue hosted by Larry West & the New Jersey Saab Owners Club for technical presentations that were welcomed by Saab Owners & Enthusiasts from all over the North Eastern United States.

aerotcs.jpgHaving attended one of these seminars during my time with the New England Saab Association, I can tell you that they were an extremely informational and invaluable experience that I will never forget!

These presentations for club members, owners and enthusiasts alike consisted of the following:

1998: Classic 900 5-speed transmission teardown and inspection
1999: Saab two stroke/V4 transmission teardown and inspection
2000: Saab ABS Brakes
2001: ?
2002:Basic Auto Electrics, wiring diagrams, testing methods, Tech II, etc.
